2. You'll need a valid license to
operate the MvTv Repeater Server. You MUST get one from MicroVideo
Learning Systems, Inc.
Enter the license provided by MicroVideo using the Admin Module, by
clicking on Licensing, then Update Customer License.
Once you have selected "Update your license, you MUST restart the
MvTv Repeater Server service. You can do so by using the
ServiceConfigEditor.exe or restarting the MvTv Repeater Secure
Server Service in the Windows "Services" Management Console. |
| |
|
| |
3. You should configure the MvTv
Repeater Server before running it. To launch it, double-click on the
MvTv Repeater Server Config File Editor icon on your Desktop.
(The default location for the Service Config Editor (ServiceConfigEditor.exe)
is located in
C:\MvTv\MvTv
Repeater Server). Run the Service Config Editor and change the
port number to whichever port you wish to run the MvTv System on.
Note that in order to navigate
firewalls you will need to use port 80.
Also note that web services also run on port 80. If you need to run
the MvTv Service on port 80, then other web services like IIS and
Apache cannot run on the same server as the MvTv Server.
Once you've set the Port number, select Generate Config File, then
select Start Service, then close the editor. If the service shuts
off automatically, you can't see this in the Service Config Editor.
If you have trouble with your MvTv System, open Windows "Services"
from Administration Tools found in the Control Panel. Check to make
sure the MvTv Secured Service is running. If not, restart it. If it
still
won't stay on Started, then you must change the port numbers for the
Server Service via the Service Config Editor. Once you do so, try
restarting the service again from Windows "Services".
4. NOTE: The MvTv is a remoting
program that communicates with the IP protocol utilizing ports. If
you can't login to the Admin, check to make sure your firewall isn't
blocking all ports. Either turn your firewall off (just for testing)
or add the required port number as an exception (preferred method).
This includes Microsoft Firewall. The most common problem for a
failed MvTv connection is a firewall blocking the MvTv ports.See
website for details.
