    Q. How do the MvTv Systems work?

A.

The MvTv Scheduler and Repeater Systems both work on the same basic principals:

Add Inventory (video clips) to the system
Create playlists from video clips in your inventory
Schedule when the playlists should play

The MvTv Systems are more powerful than you might think. The Systems are designed so that you can create "Groups" of "Client Stations". All Client Stations within a Group play the same content or playlists. The number of "Client Stations" that can exist in a Group is unlimited. You can also create an unlimited number of Groups. Client Stations are not required to have unique ID numbers or names. If Client Stations share the same name, or exist in the same Group, then they'll play the same playlists.

    Q. What's the difference between the MvTv Repeater and Scheduler Systems?

A.

The major difference between the MvTv Repeater and Scheduler Systems is as follows:

The MvTv Repeater System "repeats" or plays in a "loop" all of the video clips it finds in a scheduled playlist. The Repeater System will continue to repeat the playlist until either the current playlist is modified, or a new playlist is scheduled.

The MvTv Scheduler plays all of the video clips it finds in a scheduled playlist only once. If less than 60 minutes of video is scheduled in a MvTv Scheduler playlist, when the playlist is finished playing, a clock appears showing the current time, and announcing that the next presentation will begin at the top of the next hour.

In addition, the Repeater System can start at any time (example: 1:03 pm), while the Scheduler System only starts at the top of an hour (example: 1 pm).

    Q. How does the MvTv Licensing work?

A.

You must have a valid license in order for any MvTv Component to work. The components are:
MvTv Server, MvTv Administrator and MvTv Client.

MvTv Component licenses are provided to you via the MvTv.mdb file, which is the MvTv server database file. By default, the database is located at: C:\Program Files\MicroVideo Learning Systems Inc\MvTv Scheduler Server\Database.

If you receive a new or updated license, you must restart the MvTv Server Service in order to activate it. To restart the Service, double-click on the ServiceConfigEditor.exe file located in C:\Program Files\MicroVideo Learning Systems Inc\MvTv Scheduler Server. Click on "Stop Service", then "Start Service".

Your MvTv Server must have Internet access, as activation is accomplished thru communication with the MvTv Licensing Server over the Internet when your MvTv Server Service is restarted.
